My  story

I am a life long book lover. It's so easy to get caught up in the lives of others and escape your own problems for a while. Whether you laugh, cry, become angered or disappointed, your own problems might not seem so bad. I am building a safe community for all to come and feel heard and share their love of books.

Our history

So let's be real. The internet has complicated having a safe place to go to share your opinions. All I ask is respect everyone here. As a survivor of abuse ( all kinds) and being disrespected most of my life, we all need a safe place to go and talk about our loves of books.  If it starts conversations, awesome that's the intention. You can call me J. I do not give out personal information, like phone or personal email let me say that first. Technology is faster and honestly i hate my phone most day lol. I'm 40ish, married for 25 years to my high school sweetheart, with two dogs and a grown daughter. In my childhood, books were my escape and my safe place. I learned quickly reading kept me safe. I've taken that with me thru my entire life, and still love reading. Looking forward to meeting and chatting with everyone! -J

September is  Suicide and Addiction Recovery month.

Slashed

Thalia does an incredible job portraying the emotions of the characters. I also enjoyed the ending as seeing things through another main characters eyes, not just Sadie's'. I would love if she continued the story in another book or even multiple books. Thalia's writing style is easy to read, focused, intense with touches of humor. Looking forward to reading more books or novellas by Thalia. Please read the trigger warning page in the beginning of the book though, to be sure you can handle it. I would not recommend to anyone under 18.

The Girl Next Door

The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum.  This book was a slow burn. It started slow and took me about 6 chapters to really get into it. After that I could not put it down. All of the background info was necessary to really enjoy and understand the book. Without giving too much away, there is child abuse and Sexual assault but done in a tasteful way that it does feel like smut just for smut. There are a few twist that you don't see coming and at times you empathize with certain characters, even the one you hate. Would recommended to anyone.
